karen gwyer joins dba for an exercise in futurist dancefloor electronics after a recent outing on alien jams alongside beatrice dillon and last year s barnstorming nous release. the us-born londoner brings the sound of her stomping, analogue live performances closer to the psychedelic, thickly melodic tone of her studio compositions across three tracks, with prophase metaphase anaphase telophase an obvious choice for djs.

kanzleramt presents *consistency remixes*, a three track remix ep of as-yet unreleased ray kajioka originals, hinting at new material on its way soon from the berlin-based artist and kanzleramt mainstay. the ep will land on vinyl in september of 2016 and features remixes from detroit legend rolando, as well as the persuader (aka jesper dahlbäck) and kanzleramt label-head heiko laux.

ben sun returns to delusions for his 4th release on the label including three more tracks which show the australian via london on his best form yet. full moon kicks off the tides ep at full throttle with a muscular conga-led disco house roller. slurping 909 hats and the most twisted of synth solos courtesy of regular collaborator fantastic man (and his beloved juno 60) provide the icing on this simple bass-cake which never fails to energize the dancefloor in the most special of ways. star ritual drops next, going heavy on the percussion once again for a minimal stripped back drum tool which packs a mighty punch. dubbed out vocal hits punctuate the beautifully loose groove with subtle hints of afrobeat implied by the bassline making for a warm summer track dripping with tropical vibes. finally we have glass waves bringing the ep to a glorious close, all chiming synths, bouncing moog bass and waves of chords layering on top of a heavy drum track. ben repping an early 90’s blissed out nu groove mood on this one and managing to sound as fresh as ever in the process

hamburgs finest pay kusten presents three new power-generators on resopal - equipped with the right measure of steam and courage. his jagdgründe ep for resopal couldn t prove better his prediction that in 2016, minimal dubby techno will contain more warm and melodic components. jagdgründe ep provides us with bass-prone reduction somewhere in between techno and house, and harmony bits that remind of calypso, perfect for the open-air season. on top a remix by label mate rodden von ast.

debut ep for producer romain poncet (aka traumer) as marion poncet. this release was made to be a wonderful journey in the land of hippos.

finish techno pioneer and dum records boss kimmo rapatti aka mono junk and melody boy 2000 is back with another fine ep of some of his greatest tracks. all three have been released before now, but never all together on the same ep. a1 sound stealer was released in 2007 under the melody boy 200 alias and since then has been hugely sought after, often fetching high prices on discogs. it is a high impact techno track with racing drums and chattery percussion that will take any floor by storm. a2 all alone, again as melody boy 2000, has only been released on cd before now, as part of a label compilation back in 2002. this one is deep and rubbery, spaced out and elastic and is full of moodiness and melody. both b-side tracks were written as mono junk and both were written in 1992. first up, apache acid came on vinyl own music man and is a face melting, hundred miler per hour banger with manic 303s buried within. finally, ‘beyond the darkness’ was a key early techno track to come from finland and has previously been released on dum010. says the artist of the track, “an ensoniq asr-10 arrived on the market and studio engineer perttu bought it right away, but i never liked to use sounds that someone else had made. we sampled the track’s bassline, strings and others from my jx-3p separately and mixed it all together.” the result is an atmospheric track with swirling pads, icy synths and form drums that will make people march, no doubt.

system boss mike gervais is back at it, and he’s bringing a crew of talented conspirators to surround you on four sides with an original cut and three distinctly different interpretations. surrounded drops in with a thumping kick following a relentlessly rolling synth through taut drum programming, sizzling ride cymbals, and crisp claps to build tension on the dance floor. annie hall takes the suspense of the original deep underground, for a subterranean journey through throbbing bass, corroded synths and filthy atmospherics, straight to the nucleus of the netherworld. jesse jakob pumps up the kick for a jacking reinterpretation laden with warehouse synths and a barrage of claps for big rooms. project 313 slips into a shadowy maze of smoke and mirrors to bend their remix into a lithe and rubbery low­down groove, perfect for heating things up early or when it’s time to stay long and get weird.

after a one year hiatus, berlin s michael melchner is finally back in a memorable way with a new release on colt music. three original cuts that do not need any futher explanation with ? came first as the main track, followed by a more personal version on the b side. closing things off, prague adds the spice with a funky minimal tool track.

the t-rex is loose! roars can be heard from the house of uktura. ukt apa and ascon bates are collaborating and present ukt003. three tracks, all of them functioning techno, take you on a trip into the past. the elder” rousingly leads you through the prehistoric landscape and makes you curious for more. ton” advances progressively, like escaping the t-rex which gives up the chase in the last second. isn’t that just pure thrill! fog and mist” is reminiscent of a prehistoric dawn, smooth sound with rough touches. there are many ways to interpret it, but one thing is clear. all of it is techno!

early september will see jorge savoretti release his river plate ep via visionquests special edition imprint, comprising three original compositions from the argentinian artist. having been involved in electronic music as a dj for over two decades now jorge savoretti is firmly cemented as one of the argentinas finest electronic music exports, starting from his humble beginnings in rosario he has gone on to release material with esperanza, claque musique and igloo-rec as well as touring the globe throughout. here we see jorge mark his debut for the visionquest special edition imprint with a new three tracker and taking the lead is title track river plate, radiantly showcasing savorettis dub-infused percussive led style with choppy swinging drums, ethereal pad swells a snaking sub groove and dub chords which ebb and flow throughout. following is parana high which takes a more refined, low-slung approach via soft chord flutters, bright stab sequences and bumpy sub hits while a shuffled percussive drive further fuels the groove. last up to complete the package is u-fonk which delves into darker territories with mind- bending glitch synths, robust rhythms and a vacillating bass lead running throughout its six minute duration.

avesom (name inspired by the dog of justin bennett, the sound technician that mixed the album) are creations produced during long reharsals sessions that have taken place mostly during sunsets and late nights. there torakiki inmersed themselves in a trip where the music achievable with their own finger was tested, rejecting in advance any programming. the overall sound of the album follow the path of the previous ep, halfway between the new wave and ambient. the band aims references from aphex twin, liars, jamie xx and on the other side, classical sounds from the italian song. in the album participate the voice of ilaria ippolito (# #pap ) and of gulia olivari (o.a.u.). the video of luxard was shot by giovanni aloi in a park in hong kong.

belgium based fabrice lig is nothing else than a phenomenon of techno music. the list of high profile imprints where he released his music, like planet e, r&s, kms, third ear and playhouse is unique. marc romboy: „i m very proud and glad that i could sign such a legendary artist to my label. i m playing all three tracks in every set and wish there would be more real techno music like this.“

rome native marco piovesan is a dj’s producer. his driving style, pristine sound quality and nuanced tones makes his techno of the variety that draws bodies to the dance floor, and keeps them there. 2013 was his breakout year which saw releases land on gynoid audio, m_rec ltd.. that same year piovesan launched his own enterprise, h.omevvork recordings, as a haven for richly emotive techno music imbued in ‘90s spirit. to date it’s three ep’s have been remixed by luminaries such as giorgio gigli, daub and m_rec ltd’s sadly departed chief max_m. piovesan joined the key roster soon after as part of a split ep with another (then) up-and-comer, hector oaks. his two works, “black paranoid 7” and “black paranoid 10”, were clean, steely dj fodder underscored with a dark energy that made both of them potent club weapons. now piovesan returns with four cuts of surging, remorseless marching material design to tear up strobe-lit basements and big room halls alike. for djs who take no prisoners, who enjoy calling on the old techno ghosts too.

primary colours is back with the last release in the second colour series. this release is start studded by by the two fantstic artosts that have joined our family. it was their approach and faithful reproductions that we named this release. archetypes are a collectively-inherited unconscious idea, pattern of behaviour or thought that is universally present in individuals or a recurring symbol or motif in art or mythology. it is this exact thing we see here in this release, a train of consciousness with three distinct personalities.

holger bundles have become a late summer tradition and sort of a showcase of where the label has been heading lately: bundle #3 features the three artist eps holger has released in the last 12 months.

executive slacks began in the hot, humid summer of 1980 philadelphia by matt marello, john young and albert ganss, three bored, broke, anxious art students. starting out with performance art in subways, they soon took their angst-ridden act to galleries and night clubs. the band found their moniker in a run-down bookstore after seeing an ad for men

what s in the du name? 030303 records asked three of their favourite prod ucers with matching names to du an ep together: ann harbour s d marc cantu and mark du mosh & paul du lac, both from the dutch harbour city rotterdam. the result is dynamite! a1-mine motion- is a monsterous jacker in the rawest form how only mr cantu can du! on the b side mark du mosh takes off with a flight to -bermuda- with a hot & steamy roaring electronic beast sitting on the wing of the plane and causing some heavy turbulence. fortunatly du mosh keeps us flying high with some deep emotional synths. last but not least paul du lac delivers a dark psychedelic techtool called -beta rhythm-. a track that creeps under your skin as a virus, causing some serious haziness from noding your head. be aware that this record will appear on vinyl only!

nice price deal !!! the title of this ep sorta says it all. its quite an important release for the label. glasgow musical connections all around! when most people think of optimo music, they think of the long-running club night in glasgow >optimo (espacio)<, which ran for 12 years every sunday…headed by jd twitch and jg wilkes. label honcho jd twitch is extremely proud to be releasing naum gabo … as this is the studio project of his optimo partner, jonnie wilkes, along with james savage. jonnie and james (formally releasing three 12 inches simply as >naum< on kompakts mighty speicher series) have been active on the scene for a while now. as well as releasing the original music on kompakt, mule, eskimo, dissident, and tinae they have provided some wonderful naum gabo reworks for hot chip, simian mobile disco, franz ferdinand, snow patrol, psychonauts and so many more… twitch has long been a fan of naum gabo so it is a bit of a coup to be getting this fantastic release: two covers of two mighty scottish acts from the late 70s/early 80s.
